With a great sense of relief,  Alex finally
made it to Russia on June 7th.  His 3 1/2
day journey through Budapest and the
Ukraine was more than he expected.  At
times the weather made it impossible for
him to continue and at other times the
"Not so Welcoming Environment" made
him just want to put his bike down and
come home.   But Alex, being Alex,
continued and finally made it out.
Entering Moscow he immediately took his bike in
for service and met Boris.  Those of you who know
George Ramirez, Alex's brother, know that George
is not small.  George stands 6' 3".  Well, from what
I understand George can hide behind Boris!

Everyday Life in Russia
Alex stepped back and took a picture of these
children just after he was approached by them
Sub-zero winter temperatures make the lives of Russia’
s street children particularly severe. Most of these
children are living on the streets because of poverty,
family breakdown or abuse fuelled by the alcoholism
that is so prevalent in Russian culture. The street
children tend to band together in  groups to survive –
stealing, begging and working on the streets - living in
sewers, or the basements of tower blocks to keep warm.
