ALEX RETURN TO USA

SERGEANT RAMIREZ FINISHES WORLD MOTORCYCLE TOUR

On Sunday, July 30, 2006, at 3:48 p.m., retired Sergeant Alex Ramirez arrived in
Pensacola, Florida, completing his global tour on a motorcycle.  Alex visited numerous
Chapters of the Blue Knights in 11 European countries before entering Russia on June 6.
Stopping in Moscow for motorcycle service and a quick medical check up regarding three
fingers in his right hand (frost bite or paralysis) a three days rest worked out the problem
before continuing to Vladivostok for the ferry to Japan.  Highlights included looking up at Big
Ben in London, going over the Swiss Alps, and overcoming the obstacles of meeting many
people with varied customs, different languages and fluctuating laws.  Alex couldn’t help
realizing that despite the splendor of the Swiss Alps, the Thames River, or the seemingly
endless Ural mountain range, it reminded him of the Smoky Mountains, the mighty Mississippi
River, or the ski mountains of Utah.  Returning to the USA, Alex felt that while the trip was a
once in a lifetime adventure, you don’t have to go around the world to witness nature’s
wonders, it’s all right here, and he kept thinking….”God Bless the U.S.A.”
